Steamed Buns

Well. We thought we'd be random and make......Steamed Buns!
We found an amazing recipe here and I'm excited for how it went actually.

Pictured above is our steamed bun before steaming. We actually had to eyeball some of the ingredients because we were locked out of our rooms due to a TORNADO warning. That kinda sucked. I also didn't stir with a dominant hand or something something so it was much stickier then desired (Kinda not bun shaped more sporadic shaped).

It tasted delicious when done. We actually DIDN'T have a steamer but instead used a method we found online! You wrap the little bun in a damp paper towel (wax paper and all). Ours stuck onto the wax paper a bit after they finished cooking (Had we made them perfectly I doubt they would have) but 35 seconds on high heat and they were perfectly done! Great results truly.
Nikki decided to make some with chocolate inside. She simply wrapped the chocolate in the dough and made sure it was fully covered with dough. She waited a little bit for it to reinflate and then heated it up at 35 degrees. Hot bread and melted chocolate. YUMMMMY!

Chocolate Coconut Clusters

It seems college procrastination can even affect baking. But never fear! We'll post. Eventually.
This recipe was given to me by an old friend ^_^
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 stick butter
2 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix first 4 ingredients and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper to chill.
Note: Don't leave it on the stove for too long, otherwise, you get goopy ones that take FOREVER and a half to cool.

Here is me mixing the ingredients.
